The former Scotland striker has been a big fan of the Borussia Dortmund star since he broke into the England team, and his admiration only grew during the World Cup in Qatar.
Speaking on talkSPORT, McCoist said: "I'd happily have him as a son-in-law. He's a great player and a really nice guy. I think he's going to be a superstar."
Bellingham is one of the most sought-after young players in the world, and has been linked with a move to a number of top clubs, including Real Madrid, Manchester City and Liverpool.
However, McCoist believes that Bellingham would be best served by staying at Dortmund for another season or two.
"I think he's still got a lot to learn," McCoist said. "He's only 19 years old and he's still developing. I think he'd be better off staying at Dortmund for another year or two and then making a move to a bigger club."
