Manfred von Richthofen, also known as the Red Baron, was a German fighter pilot during World War I. He became one of the most successful fighter pilots in the history of aviation, with 80 confirmed air victories. Richthofen was born in Germany in 1892. He joined the German army in 1915 and was assigned to the air service. He quickly became a skilled pilot and quickly rose through the ranks, eventually becoming the commander of a fighter squadron.

In 1918, Richthofen was shot down and killed by Canadian fighter pilot Arthur Roy Brown. He was just 25 years old.
