Ubisoft CEO Confirms Next Splinter Cell In Development

Yves Guillemot confirms the project in development at Ubisoft Toronto

The series returns years after its last original installment

During a recent earnings call, Ubisoft CEO and co-founder Yves Guillemot confirmed that a new Splinter Cell game is in development at Ubisoft Toronto, the studio behind the last two mainline installments in the series: Splinter Cell: Blacklist and Splinter Cell: Conviction. The confirmation comes years after the last original installment in the series.

Rumors of a new Splinter Cell game have been circulating for years, but Ubisoft has remained tight-lipped about the project until now. Guillemot's confirmation is the first official word from Ubisoft that a new Splinter Cell game is in development.

No further details about the game were revealed during the call. It is unclear when the game will be released, what platforms it will be available on, or what it will be about. However, the confirmation of the game's development is sure to excite fans of the series who have been waiting for years for a new installment.

In the meantime, Ubisoft is working on expanding the Splinter Cell universe with a VR game, Splinter Cell: VR. The game is being developed by Ubisoft Red Storm Entertainment and is set to be released in 2023.
