Celtics Take Game 1 by 18 Points

The Dallas Mavericks fell in their NBA Finals opener on Tuesday night by a score of 107-89 to the Boston Celtics. The Celtics came out firing on all cylinders, hitting eight 3-pointers in the first quarter to take a 32-18 lead. The Mavs never recovered, as the Celtics extended their lead to 20 points by the end of the third quarter.

Luka Doncic led the Mavs with 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists, but he was not able to get much help from his teammates. Jalen Brunson was the only other Mavs player to score in double figures, finishing with 15 points.

The Celtics, meanwhile, were led by Jayson Tatum, who had 29 points. Jaylen Brown added 21 points, and Marcus Smart chipped in with 18 points.

Game 2 of the NBA Finals will be held on Thursday night in Boston. The Mavs will need to play much better if they want to even the series.
